Dr. Lindsey wins ACT-UP grant entitled “Enabling a Quantum Accurate Description of Chemistry and Carbon Condensation in Shocked Organic Materials”

ACT-UP supports academic research alliances with LLNL’s Weapons and Complex Integration (WCI) directorate, with a focus on WCI’s Weapon Physics and Design stockpile science, inertial confinement fusion and national security mission space. Drs. Lindsey and Sorin Bastea (LLNL) will work together to advance fundamental understanding of nanocarbon synthesis from shock compressed precursors, using the ChIMES artificial intelligence-driven simulation framework developed by Dr. Lindsey’s group.
